“At the most difficult moments of my life, when it seemed that every door was closed to me, the taste of those apricots comes back to comfort me with the notion that abundance is always within reach, if only one knows how to find it”
–Isabele Allende-
This quotes reminds me of how difficult times in life radiate feelings of limitations in all of our possibilities. It is that moment where you are only left with what may be a drop of desire, but no motivation to truly get there. It reminds me how difficulty knows how to zoom-in on dark moments. These difficult moments somehow easily define our being for hours, days, months, and years.
Isabele Allende reminds us how we all have “apricots” that we can be comforted by. Sometimes, difficulty makes it impossible to identify or even access our “apricots”. We may always expect difficulty to strike. So, when difficulty strikes try to prepare by identifying significant/ simple memories that awaken your senses. Take in these apricot moments with your whole being. Breathe in that moment. Thank those moments. Always strive to learn to find those apricot moments and create your tool box, because when difficulty strikes, you’ll know what to do.
